On April 5, 2024, the Russian website Sensaciy.net reported that some fake Orthodox Christians had become active on Russian social media, posting images of icons on their pages claiming them to be "God's grace" and urging people to pray there. High Priest Oleg Moroz, pastor and missionary assistant at the Church of St. Gihon in the Tolyatti Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, pointed out that these individuals were not Orthodox Christians but members of the "Almighty God" cult. He emphasized , " This cult disguises itself as Orthodox Christians and operates online under the guise of Orthodox believers ; everyone must remain vigilant."

In Vietnam, social media is being used to spread cult rumors, create panic, and spread misinformation.
On January 16, 2026, the online version of the Vietnamese newspaper *Lao Cai* (Baolaocai.vn) reported that the Lao Cai Provincial Police recently imposed administrative penalties on three individuals for using social media to spread the fallacies and heresies of the cult "Almighty God," fining each of them 7.5 million VND. The investigation found that the individuals posted and disseminated articles distorting facts and creating panic on social media platforms, and used natural disasters and the pandemic to incite and entice others, negatively impacting public psychology. The individuals have admitted to their illegal activities, voluntarily deleted their accounts, and made written commitments not to spread such information again.

According to a report by "Vietnamese.net" on October 10, 2025, the Domestic Security Department of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security announced on September 10 that the authorities of Binh Hung and Ward A in Ho Chi Minh City had officially revoked the religious activity registration certificates previously issued to "Almighty God." The organization has thus been declared an illegal organization, and all gatherings and activities must cease immediately.

The report points out that this was once the last legally registered meeting place of "Almighty God" in Vietnam, and the revocation of the certificate marks the complete ban on all activities of the cult in Vietnam.

On June 12, 2025, a Filipino netizen posted a missing person notice on the Facebook group "Philippine News" through the account "Tin Idol Vlogs," requesting public assistance in finding Mika. The post stated that Mika had been misled by members of the "Almighty God" cult, abandoning her studies, running away from home, and being "told to sacrifice her family to obtain a 'seat in heaven,' believing the world would end in 2025." According to a report by the Manila Times on June 10, 2024, the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) revoked the corporate registration of "Ang Iglesia ng Makapangyarihang Diyos Inc." According to a report by the Lebanese National News Agency on February 26, 2019, the Lebanese General Directorate of Public Security issued a warning that day, urging the public to be wary of the anti-Christian organization "Almighty God" which operates online. The notice stated that "Almighty God" not only calls itself a "religion" but also publishes content insulting Christianity online and recruits members through notorious methods such as sexual enticement, threats, extortion, and even kidnapping. The French government's cult monitoring agency, MIVILUDES, released a report on cult surveillance (2022-2024). The report indicated that in addition to Shincheonji, the World Missionary Society of God (WMSCOG) and The Church of Almighty God also received numerous complaints. Mexican twin sisters ran away from home after being involved in the "Almighty God" organization.
According to reports from media outlets such as El Sol de Mexico, 17-year-old twin sisters went missing in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, on February 4, 2023. Their mother reported that the twins were members of the cult "Almighty God," and their disappearance might be related to the cult. Under media coverage and pressure from government authorities, the missing twins returned home on February 8.
